As to customs' regulation, bunker tax-free price is only for vessels sailing abroad shortly after bunkering in Vietnam. Vessels , which are operating in Vietnam water or will sail to another Vietnam local port, must take bunker at taxed price (domestic price ). However, in the last two years, some ship owner / agent / broker have advised false ship schedule in order to get cheap price. Customs have found out some cases, and some owners , suppliers , brokers are fired for their deception.
For safety in the future, please check carefully with your clients vessel's next port after bunkering in Vietnam. Meanwhile, please request ship owner to confirm in writing ship schedule. Besides, please request ship agent to send us copy of port clearance after vessel sailing to submit to customs office.
